Chapter 23 Flaw
Chapter 23 Flaw
Suddenly, as if noticing someone watching her, Shen Xi, supporting the child, turned her head to look behind her.
She glanced at the big tree, the pedestrians on the roadside, and the alley entrance, but didn't see anyone.
Shen Xi looked away in confusion. Strange, why did she have the feeling that someone was watching her?
"Hello, are you Shen Xi?" The deliveryman grinned and limped over to Shen Xi.
Shen Xi picked up the child and replied, "It's me. My package has arrived, right?"
She glanced at him casually and thought to herself, "Are all delivery guys this handsome these days?"
It has a Lisbon scumbag vibe to it.
If he hadn't been wearing a red vest and walking towards her saying he was a male model, Shen Xi would have believed him.
The deliveryman quickly handed the small package box to her, and Shen Xi took the pen and signed it.
"Hey buddy, did you hurt your leg in that car accident? Do you want me to help you to the hospital for a checkup?"
Shen Xi took the box and looked at the deliveryman's bruised face with concern; his hand was still resting on his thigh.
A flicker of surprise crossed the young man's eyes, then he smiled and waved his hand.
"No need, my friend is waiting for me outside, he can take me there."
Shen Xi didn't insist, but still felt a little apologetic: "I'm so sorry to have troubled you to make this trip and even fall."
The young man smiled nonchalantly, "It's nothing, it's my duty."
After saying that, he left.
The baby in Shen Xi's arms stared curiously at the express box in her hand, but politely didn't ask any questions. Her mother said that it's polite not to pry into other people's business.
He didn't understand what "intervening" meant, but it roughly meant that he couldn't ask about other people's business.
He always listens to his mother.
A gust of cold wind blew by, and Shen Xi shivered a little; it was getting chilly that day.
She held her child and said, "The weather is bad today, let's go back quickly, okay?"
Su Qi'an nodded obediently.
Shen Xi picked him up and turned to go upstairs without lingering.
A cold wind blew past the hem of her skirt, creating ripples.
Jiang Du witnessed all of this, and his heart was breaking.
He clung to his father's clothes, stubbornly refusing to look up or gaze in the direction where no one was anymore.
Jiang Ci gently stroked the child's thin spine, his eyes filled with heartache: "Jiang Du, shall Daddy take you home?"
Jiang Du did not respond.
An old man in the neighborhood had just finished his game of chess. As he was touching his water glass, he noticed a delicate and elegant child crying uncontrollably, without making a sound.
He put down his water glass and walked over.
"Child, has something sad happened?"
The elderly man with gray hair looked at the father and son with a kind and gentle expression.
This father and son are both very handsome!
Jiang Ci looked at the old man and nodded politely.
"No...no," Jiang Du's shattered pride was pieced back together at this moment, and he didn't forget to politely reply, "Thank you, Grandpa."
"My child, life has many ups and downs. Once you get through them, you'll find that this world is truly wonderful and colorful. Don't be sad about a temporary setback."
After speaking with his hands behind his back, the old man didn't wait for the father and son to reply before leisurely going back to play chess.
Jiang Du's tears clung to his long, thin eyelashes, threatening to fall. He blinked. Yes, his mother wasn't married or had any other children yet; he was still her only child.
That boy must be a resident of the neighborhood; you could tell at a glance he was about three or four years old.
She quickly comforted herself.
Jiang Ci saw that after the child listened to the old man's advice not far away, his eyes gradually became clear.
"Alright, Jiangdu, we should go home now."
Jiang Ci picked up the child and strode out.
I walked all the way to the car.
Jiang Ci opened the car door, and a man wearing a black windbreaker was sitting in the passenger seat.
Zhou Li turned around, his usually mild temper suddenly flaring up, his tone filled with disbelief.
"You brought me all this way to act with you, and now you're completely indifferent to my life or death?!"
After Xiaojiangdu boarded the bus, he didn't care who was on the bus and remained calmly and quietly secluded.
Jiang Ci fastened the child's seatbelt, then raised an eyebrow upon hearing this: "What do you mean by that?"
Zhou Li pointed to his scraped face, then to his leg that he couldn't fully extend, giving him a look that said, "You heartless bastard!"
"You told me to fake a car accident, but no one told me the car was really going to hit me!"
Jiang Ci looked at his friend's scraped face and said, "I didn't hire someone to run you over. I'm not so stingy as to betray my friends."
Zhou Li cherished that face of hers, and upon hearing this, he was instantly enraged: "What?!"
"That person was on a motorcycle. He hit me and ran away. I thought it was someone you had arranged, so I didn't pursue it."
Now they're telling him that this person really did commit a hit-and-run?!
Jiang Ci rubbed his temples; his friend was indeed having some bad luck.
"The police will find the person, just wait. I'll take you to the hospital now."
Zhou Li was immediately at a loss and quickly shook his head, "No, no, my leg is fine, I don't want to go to the hospital and go through all that trouble."
"Okay, you decide for yourself."
When they were almost home, Zhou Li got out of the car halfway, saying he had something to do, and stopped nearby.
After Zhou Li got off the carriage,
The car quickly drove into the villa.
Assistant Li stood on the open ground next to the flower bed, holding a folder in his hand, looking somewhat absent-minded.
Jiang Ci honked the horn three times, but he didn't react. Finally, the gardener next to him couldn't stand it anymore and pulled him aside.
Seeing his boss get out of the car, he hurriedly followed, looking somewhat anxious.
Xiao Jiangdu walked into his house on his own.
Jiang Ci raised his hand, signaling him to wait a moment.
Assistant Li followed him all the way to the study, where he placed the documents in front of his boss.
"These past two days I've been dealing with... Miss Shen Xi's signatures on the bills and divorce agreement for the past two years, it's just..."
Jiang Ci saw him stammering, looking like he wanted to say something but couldn't.
Jiang Ci's expression was indifferent. "Assistant Li, speak clearly and finish what you have to say in one breath."
"I discovered that the young mistress's handwriting is completely different in these two documents."
The old bills had a handwriting style that leaned towards a small, elegant script, while the new ones had a bolder, more dynamic feel.
These are completely different styles; in other words, the characters clearly weren't written by the same person.
Jiang Ci glanced at the two pieces of paper in front of him casually, his hands clasped together in front of his abdomen.
Each stroke, even the brush tip, is different. The old characters don't have the brush tip at the beginning, while the new characters have the brush tip at the end, as if the writer wanted to elongate the last stroke.
This is really interesting.
Jiang Ci glanced at Li Zhu and retorted, "Do you know what you should and shouldn't say?"
Li Zhu understood immediately: "I have never seen the lady's handwriting before."
Jiang Ci casually compared the two pieces of calligraphy again, his dark eyes filled with a deep, unfathomable look.
This Shenxi is not that Shenxi.
