Chapter 1004 - 231: Epilogue 25 [Main Finale] (2)
Rong Zhengfeng had given Rong Sinan and Tang Yige a heads-up long ago.
This year, the whole family would spend the New Year in Jinming Port City; not a single one could be missing.
So early that morning, Rong Sinan took Tang Yige and Rong Rui to Jinming Port City.
Oh.
Zhang Xu and Geng Yi had gotten their certificate half a month ago.
Strictly speaking, it counted as a flash marriage.
So for this New Year, Geng Yi took Zhang Lan and Zhang Xu back to his family to celebrate.
Rong Rui was dressed very festively today, in a bright red long down coat that almost reached his ankles. His scarf and gloves were white, and his hat was also red.
Round and chubby, he looked absolutely adorable.
Rong Sinan and Tang Yige had been laughing the whole way.
They arrived at Jinming Port City.
When they saw the three little ones from Rong Mochen and Jin Jumo’s family, Rong Sinan and Tang Yige couldn’t stop grinning either.
Because the three little dumplings were also in perfect sync, all wearing red down jackets, bundled up almost the same way as Rong Rui, playing at building a snowman in front of the villa.
Rong Mochen was supporting chubby Jiu Jiu with one arm, standing with Jin Jumo at the villa entrance to welcome Rong Sinan and Tang Yige.
As soon as Rong Rui got out of the car, he immediately joined Xixi and Hanhan.
Rong Sinan and Tang Yige walked up and first teased the chubby Jiu Jiu in Rong Mochen’s arms.
But chubby Jiu Jiu, though chubby, was very aloof. No matter how Rong Sinan and Tang Yige tried to coax her, the little girl just used her pair of glassy big eyes to coldly glance at them.
Being stared at like that for so long, Rong Sinan and Tang Yige both felt a little deflated.
They couldn’t shake the feeling that they’d just been despised by chubby Jiu Jiu!
Jin Jumo was laughing so hard she couldn’t straighten up. Her slender, pale fingertips secretly poked at chubby Jiu Jiu’s soft, plump little cheek.
"Ah..."
After being poked by her mom, chubby Jiu Jiu finally showed a bit of a reaction.
Jin Jumo cheerfully took her from Rong Mochen’s arms and kissed her little face. "Baby, how can you be this cold and cool, huh? Did you inherit it from your iceberg-faced daddy?"
Rong Mochen’s thin lips tilted slightly as he glanced at Jin Jumo, both amused and exasperated.
Jin Jumo wrinkled her nose at him.
"Are you two showing off your love in front of us or what?"
Tang Yige rose up on her toes and hooked an arm around Rong Sinan’s neck in one swift move.
Rong Sinan quickly bent down a bit to cooperate with her, so her arm wouldn’t get sore.
Tang Yige looked up at Rong Sinan with sugary eyes, her heart blooming with happiness.
Seeing this, Jin Jumo arched her peach-blossom eyes and snorted with a smile. "And you still say it’s us—aren’t you two just the same?"
Rong Sinan slipped an arm lightly around Tang Yige’s waist, lips curved in a gentle smile as he looked from Jin Jumo to Rong Mochen. "Yiyi and I still have somewhere to go. We’ll leave Little Rui with you."
Rong Mochen and Jin Jumo exchanged a look, then turned to Rong Sinan with faint suspicion.
And it wasn’t just Rong Mochen and Jin Jumo.
Even Tang Yige’s eyes held a hint of surprise as she looked at Rong Sinan. "Brother, where are we going?"
Rong Sinan pulled her a little closer, gazing at her tenderly. "You’ll know when we get there."
Tang Yige, "..."
...
At the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau.
Seeing the long line snaking outside the Civil Affairs Bureau, Tang Yige was a little dumbfounded!
Rong Sinan unbuckled his own seatbelt, then leaned over to undo Tang Yige’s.
Hearing the click of the buckle coming undone, Tang Yige drew in a sharp breath, turned to look at Rong Sinan in a daze, swallowed twice, and said in a voice as soft as possible, "Brother, what are we... doing here?"
Rong Sinan kissed her cheek, then took a plastic bag out from the hidden compartment. "Getting our certificate!"
Those two words, "get the certificate," floated in from outside the car.
Because by the time he said it, he’d already decisively gotten out.
Tang Yige was not only bewildered now—she was completely blank!
He—he said what?
Getting the certificate!!!
Rong Sinan walked around to the other side, gracefully opened the car door, and held out a clean, neat hand to her. "Beautiful lady, please step out of the car!"
Tang Yige, "..."
She stared at him all silly-like.
Her ability to react had completely short-circuited.
Rong Sinan’s lips curved; he turned his hand over, bent down slightly, and simply scooped her out of the car in a princess carry.
"..."
Tang Yige gasped, her arms instinctively circling his neck.
Her clear eyes went wide as she looked at Rong Sinan.
Rong Sinan gazed at her gently. "Yiyi, are you willing to be my wife?"
The hands Tang Yige had laced behind his neck tightened slightly. Her heart was racing out of control, feeling like it was about to explode!
"I want to rightfully, openly have you. I want to put my surname in front of your name. To hold your hand, and grow old together with you!"
Rong Sinan looked at Tang Yige with deep, sincere affection. His voice was slow and clear, each word like a beautiful note plucking at the strings of her heart.
A thin flush slowly rose in Tang Yige’s eyes. Her pearly teeth bit down on her lower lip.
Rong Sinan stared into her eyes. "Are you willing?"
Tang Yige stared back at him, unblinking.
As if, in the whole world.
There was only him.
One second, two seconds, three seconds...
"I’m willing!"
Tang Yige opened her throat and shouted the words out loud!
All the couples in line turned to look at them in unison.
It made the tips of Rong Sinan’s ears flush red.
But Tang Yige couldn’t care less. She shifted up in his arms to sit more upright, hugged his neck tight, and stared at him. "Rong Sinan, I, Tang Yige, am willing to be your wife! In this lifetime, I’m going to stay with you, unless death tears us apart!"
It was like Tang Yige was reciting vows, and at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau, her voice was the only one that could be heard.
Rong Sinan’s handsome face was uncharacteristically flushed, and the corners of his lips couldn’t help rising higher and higher. In his eyes, as he looked at Tang Yige, a clear sheen of moisture glimmered.
"Hurry up, go line up! More and more people are coming!"
Tang Yige glanced over at the queue that had formed a long dragon and frowned, urging Rong Sinan impatiently.
"Pfft..."
Rong Sinan turned his handsome face to the side, laughing out loud.
Tang Yige glared back at him, though her big eyes clearly held a shy smile. "What are you laughing at? Do you not want to get married anymore?"
"What nonsense!"
Rong Sinan bent his head and nipped at her ear.
Tang Yige’s face heated up; she shrank her shoulders a little and hummed at him, "You’re dawdling on purpose. Are you sincerely trying to get married or not?"
"We’re getting married!"
Rong Sinan pressed a firm kiss to her lips as he spoke.
Tang Yige cupped his face with one hand. "Then hurry up and go line up, will you? If we can’t get it done today, we’ll have to wait till next year."
After being fussed over like this by Tang Yige, Rong Sinan was just as excited, practically over the moon. He gently set Yige down and pulled out his phone to make a call.
On a day of bidding the old farewell and welcoming the new, there were bound to be lots of people getting married.
To avoid having to line up, Rong Sinan had actually made arrangements in advance.
But.
Just as he took out his phone, it was yanked away by Tang Yige.
Rong Sinan paused, looking at her in confusion.
Smiling, Tang Yige suddenly grabbed his hand and ran toward the back of the line, dragging him along. As they ran, she turned to give him a mock glare. "You still want to pull strings when you’re getting married?"
Rong Sinan froze again, then immediately understood what she meant.
She wanted to be like everyone else—walking into marriage with anticipation, longing, and excitement.
Rong Sinan glanced at the couples waiting in line. On which of their faces was there not excitement, thrill, sweetness, and hope?
Rong Sinan drew in a breath, then suddenly reversed his grip, clasping her hand tightly.
At first, it was Tang Yige pulling him forward, but then it became him, leading her as they ran.
A flicker of surprise passed through Tang Yige’s bright eyes, then they curved into little crescents.
She looked at the broad expanse of Rong Sinan’s back.
After all the stumbles and bumps, after everything she’d been through, this was the first time she’d had such a strong, solid feeling.
That was—she would, from now on, definitely, definitely be very, very happy!
With that thought, Tang Yige laughed softly. Even though he was running fast with her in tow, her legs somehow felt light the whole time.
Because what she was chasing—was the happiness of her entire life!
